Why can’t the doctor pick them like this anymore? Don’t get me wrong, Amy and Clara are okay (and Rory), but Amy was chosen just becuase the Doctor landed in her garden, and Clara was presented as a mystery. What happened to the doctor picking up people because they impressed him?
