This morning’s fog level: Silent Hill
You too, huh?
I was thinking Ravenloft, but same deal pretty much.
Hey, Ravenloft works too. I think the sun is burning off some of it now, but I woke up and couldn’t see the…
I assume we’re talking about the campaign and not the board game? I know OF it but never played, because I’m a D&D nerd who’s been stuck on the periphery of the game forever. Living where I do, finding enough people for a campaign – let alone someone willing to DM – is damn near impossible.
But I do know Ravenloft! I just wish I had people to play it with!
I’d play the hell out of D&D with you people 😀 Is anyone surprised that I like to play a fighter chick with a battleaxe?
(I dunno how I’d do it though, skype? And I don’t have any books past 3.5)
I literally won’t play anything that new. I’m…. bizarre that way. My rules get called odd and weird, but they’re what makes sense to me. 2nd Edition stuff is all available via pdf downloads.
I got into it late, so I think the core rules and DM guidebooks I have are for version 4.0.
I’ll fess up my lack of street cred – I didn’t start actively collecting D&D books and modules until the Penny Arcade D&D podcasts – I can at least say I was a fan of Acquisitions, Incorporated before Wil Wheaton and Aofel joined? But that podcast series made D&D not only appealing as a storytelling device, but also made the game mechanics completely approachable. It was DM’d by one of Wizards of the Coast’s professional DMs, and I went from being interested to being rabidly interested and profoundly frustrated by the lack of people.
I’m open to learning older systems, I just don’t have the materials – but it sounds like they’re available online now for free?
Also did you guys know Supernatural has a tabletop RP game? The monster manual is a thing of beauty. I snagged it when I was doing angel stats and powers research for fic.
I’ve seen that there is a book for the SPN, but it’s out of print.
And like.
200 dollars.
Fuck dat shit.
Also, how did this conversation suddenly turn into “let’s run D&D on tumblr”.
I think that was my fault. I also have rifts, werewolf: the apocalypse and gurps. Well most of that’s hubbys doing. I married a d&d geek…
The vintage 1984 star trek rpg box is mine though.
