Although this is a really funny scene, Lestrade’s face is a little bit heartbreaking. He’s known Sherlock for many years, risking his credibility as a detective by allowing him to work on open cases. He’s pretty much the only detective who willingly lets Sherlock help with these cases and doesn’t turn him away, doesn’t call him “freak” and even considers Sherlock a friend. I have no proof, but I have a feeling he was a support to Sherlock throughout his drug use and rehabilitation. Can you imagine supporting someone for a number of years, risking your career to allow them to do something they love, and they don’t ever bother to learn your name? I’d be incredibly peeved and pretty offended. He took the time to learn John’s name, yet Lestrade seems to be completely ignored by Sherlock.
Greg’s expression: “What the Hell Sherlock?! After everything I’ve done for you, you can’t even be bothered to learn my name? Thank God your brother is hot.”
