I had her trust
that there are people in this world who believe that thor wasn’t as emotional as loki about frigga’s death is absolutely mind-boggling. thor is someone who is known to react to personal trauma with rage, and that is exactly what he does; but the last vestiges of his emotional power go out the window the moment he throws that hammer —the moment he misses, the moment he fails—, and all that remains is an emptiness.
people have observed that thor “just stood there” while odin held frigga and cried, while loki had a breakdown, yet all of them seem to fail to understand that trauma is exactly that: standing there silently, paralyzed, helpless, watching your world fall apart and being unable to stop it.
thor’s inaction isn’t indifference. it is the highest form of trauma.
