What if she met him before the Doctor tucked her memories away? So now she has her own personal guardian angel, and she has no idea why the new bloke delivering soda to the corner shop always makes extra time for her when they spot each other. Which is unusually often. He always has a minute to ask her how her day’s been, if her granddad’s still doing all right, if he’s still out there looking up that barmy telescope.

Little does she know, Gabriel’s been working on how to help her get those memories back. Because seeing Donna like this breaks his heart as much as it broke the Doctor’s. Anyone who makes an impression on Gabriel is never forgotten, and it’s just flatly unacceptable that one of those people forgot about him.
