Yes, this. I think in some ways this is why I’m finding it easier to write mystrade of late then johnlock. Especially post s3. Mystrade is my ‘low-stress’ ship. As in I don’t have to arc weld it to canon (not that I’m required to do so with johnlock). In some ways i find the characters relationship easier to manage. These are two older male characters comfortable with themselves and if they happen to be in a relationship it doesn’t particularly change either of them.
I’m probably doing a poor job of explaining myself. But I agree with everything said here.
