#Dee Dee is so underrated#from the very beginning she is the voice of reason#she figures out what’s going on and no one listens to her#her professor talks over her and dismisses her#and the scene above ends with the words ‘someone shut her up’#she’s the real world equivalent of the Doctor#except she’s got none of his privileges#she is young and black and female#this is a story about people being scared of difference#and of intelligence brought low by mob mentality#both Dee Dee and the Doctor set themselves apart by trying to figure things out#the monster is really just the catalyst to get this other story going#about the anxiety of difference#about how people treat you when you stand out#only RTD could write this story#and write it so well#I have a lot of feelings about Dee Dee#and I see no one ever talking about her; only the Doctor (via thesilverdevastation)
