I love Thor’s little smirk. He’s like ‘Yes, that’s my Jane. Such a smart Jane, she is! Good job, Jane! Four for you!’
#i want more of jane interacting with the woman running the soul forge#because that is a ‘ONE OF US!’ look on her face if ever i’ve seen one#she clearly wasn’t expecting jane to understand#to not only recognize what they were doing but UNDERSTAND how it works#but jane does and you can see the moment where that woman is as enchanted by jane as thor is#i could see her taking jane under her wing#teaching her the magic/science of asgard#and being a mentor and friend to jane (x)
She lobbies for Earth-Asgard interactions, trying to talk about how it can benefit medical science for all involved, how some novel and intelligent members of the human race can see things in a different light and make them (Asgardians) think outside the box, and how humanity could benefit too. She tries to appeal to “Odin’s” sense of fair play and love for his son – talks about how they could extend human life just a bit, so that Thor, down on Midgard, need not suffer too soon.
She’s stunned when Odin crassly denies her petition with no room for appeal, and it makes her suspicious.
Sif is already suspicious. Odin’s strange behavior regarding Lorelei has made her distrust him, even as she’s loyal.
The two of them head to Midgard and find Thor and Jane. Jane fangirls a little, as does our unnamed Asgardian doctor. (Sif heard from Thor about the ball, and our Asgardian doctor may bring one with her as a gift.)
Cue science adventures while the group tries to find out why Odin’s been acting so strangely. Jane and Asgard Doctor Lady save the day when they realize there’s a strange field surrounding Odin — the same kind of field Loki generates when he’s casting illusions.
At the end, Jane and Asgard Doctor Lady are standing in front of one of Tony’s interactive hologram displays, and Asgard Doctor Lady smiles and says, “Ah. A primitive display, but it will do for our purposes.”
Jane grins. She’s going to science.
