Okay I don’t know who this is. As you can see from the time stamps, the messages were a couple months apart. I can only assume they’re someone going through the omegaverse tag. I also got the exact same message regarding asexuality on Value of an Omega (which is kinda hilarious given there’s no sex).
Anyone else getting messages like this from this person? I’ve deleted the comments from AO3, but I do keep all my emails.
It bothers me a bit, but I can ignore it. I’m honestly more worried about someone who is not as secure in their writing getting a message like this and it making them stop. I also don’t want to turn off anon commenting.
Either way, this is very not good.
Threats of physical violence is very serious indeed. This person doesn’t have the courage of their convictions to be of anon but then if he/she made these kind of threats off anon they would be in a shit load of trouble.

I love A/B/O fics.know why? BECAUSE of the sexism! Not as in “oh, I enjoy sexism”, I’m a female presenting engineer, I fucking hate sexism. But here in the real world, sexism is seldom as blatant and obvious. I don’t often get to hear “you belong at home, you should be pregnant and cooking for your husband and three kids”. I get subtle stuff, like “your grades are really good, for a woman”. Or even more subtle, not mentioning gender, just implying it.
In A/B/O verses, omegas are treated worse than women in my country and my social groups. They suffer and everybody knows it’s wrong to treat them this way. Even if they really go out of their mind once a month, it doesn’t change that locking them up and keeping them “barefoot and pregnant” and deciding what’s “the best for them” is wrong. It’s obvious, it screams at you from every line in those ‘verses. And even in those worlds, there always are the alphas who support their omega in being who they want to be, who don’t give a shit about people making fun of them for “bowing to the stupid little omega”, there are allies and empowered omegas and alphas who treat omegas just like people and it’s amazing and gives hope when facing subtle litte fucking comments every day.
Don’t let comments like those get to you.
Thank you for this! I am very conscience about consent in all of my omegaverse fics and write them very much with this sort of thing in mind. It’s part of why Mycroft’s Choice is so important to me. I was aware about halfway through that I could replace “Female” with “Omega” and it would be the same story. And that’s important.
