April 25 2015 – Protesters take to the streets in Baltimore to express their anger over the Death of Freddie Gray, who was murdered by police.

Yup. Protesting against violence with more violence. Because that totally fucking works. I swear to god these protesters are fucking stupid half the damn time.

They should probably learn about Martin Luther King Jr. Read his “I have a dream” speech, in which he specifically says violence will not help.

Or maybe You should learn more about MLK than the one speech by him that they constantly repeat because it is nice and friendly and toothless?

Whites need to keep MLK’s name out their mouths before they catch this fade

whtie people fucking love to meme the hell out of MLK when its the tame as hell middle school assembly version

White people MLK isnt some prophet for you to invoke every time you want black people to be respectable

^^^^^^^^^^

Seriously. That last line. White folk, what MLK was doing in the 60s was ILLEGAL. That’s why he insisted on passive resistance, because then they were not at fault, but they were still sitting at tables and drinking out of fountains and sitting in buses illegally. It was AGAINST THE LAW. Y’all would be telling him to behave, probably. Because that’s what you do. Everything has to be civilised. Respectable. Docile. Toothless.

But after a while that loses its sting, because what armed force is going to just out their weapons down because a bunch of people protest in a respectable manner??

The unspoken threat behind the protests of the civil rights movement was ‘imagine what would happen if we all got angry.’ It seems people have forgotten that statement. Now they’re being reminded – and maybe rather than scold and waggle your whitesplain finger at the protestors for being naughty, ask yourself why people feel the need to get this level of angry in the first place.

You could maybe start by counting how many people of colour have been killed in the past six months by police…
