The first photo is total confusion as Max looks back. Did that really just happen? Did he just work as a team with a war boy who came up with a plan involving a tree in the middle of the desert??
The second photo, You can literally SEE Max realizing who’s behind the wheel now that he has time to think. Last time he was hanging on to a car, this war boy was trying to blow the war rig up, now he wants to save everyone, Max himself included.
