Fear.net: For those who are new to Torchwood, who are just discovering the show. Can you talk a little bit about Ianto? Your character?
Gareth: yeah. He is a sort of battler, a sort of Alfred to batman’s cave I suppose…to the hub, to their base. He gets them everywhere on time. He is the one in the suit. He is very regulated. He’s got a stopwatch to keep time. He’s that precise. There’s a bit of a romantic tryst between him and Captain Jack, who’s the leader of the organization. And ehm (John steps over&kisses him on the cheek). There’s quite an obvious romantic relationship between Ianto and Captain Jack. He is sort of the logical one, the sensible one that keeps everybody in order, with occasionally a stabbing, dry wit.
