Today Alexia knew exactly what was going on. I told her once we got to the hotel that we were getting to meet Moose and Pie (after she correctly guessed about 10 times during the search for a parking spot in the garage), so the second we got in the photo op line she was bubbling over with excitement.
Once we could actually see them standing there from across the room? Cliff got a good laugh in at my expense, because she tried to dislocate my shoulder to get to the front of the line before our turn. Don’t worry, she didn’t get away with it on my watch!
She called out to them with a happy little ‘it’s Moose and Pie!’ and the second they saw her they both grinned SO widely. When it was our turn to step up Jared straight away dropped to his knees and very excitedly asked her, “Can I have a BIIIIIG hug?”
She quite literally threw herself in his arms while Jensen grinned and gave me a hug.
While I was talking to Jensen about the fact that my husband got me the photo op for Valentine’s Day (to which he replied “So he beat you at Valentine’s Day is what you’re saying? You’ll get him next year, tiger!”) I could hear Jared asking Alexia her teddy bear’s name. When she said ‘Teddy’ he was like, “Teddy, huh? I like it! That’s a good strong name for a bear.”
Right about then Jensen crouxhed down, shot her a playful glare and asked where HIS hug was. She turned around in Jared’s arms and sheepishly held hers open in his direction.
“Oh, that’s how it is?”
Jared answered for her with a quick “That’s how it is!” while Jensen leaned in for the hug, then they stood up and Jared asked Alexia if she was his Valentine. She said yes, of course. Wouldn’t you?
I pulled out the ring box and asked if he’d mind.
“Say no more, sweetheart.”
That’s when he dropped down on one knee, and I asked if he’d mind me holding his cheek. Obviously that was a yes, too. Then we got the photo, which features a hilariously ‘I DON’T WANT A STEP DAD’ look from the little one, and Jared moved to Jensen with Alexia in his arms and asked if he still wanted a big hug.
Jensen SNATCHED her, and I got a minute to talk to the both of them about how much the show has meant to me over this past decade, through my own personal struggles, and how surreal it was to be standing there with them and my four year old daughter. Jared gave me the tightest hug, then grabbed Alexia back and thanked her for being his Valentine while Jensen gave me one as well.She tried to run back in to the photo op room three times during the rest of the day, insisting ‘But that’s MY Valentine’s Moose!’ She tried running to the stage during their panel too, the poor thing! 😂
BASICALLY, we had the best Valentine’s Day ever.
