I just want to say, as far politics go, there’s one thing I haven’t seen mentioned a lot.
Democrats flipped the house in a midterm.
See, conventional wisdom is that Dem’s don’t vote in midterms. It’s often suggested that young people (which tend to skew democrat) will vote in presidential elections, but don’t bother with these in-between years.
I’m old enough to remember 1994 and “the Republican Revolution.” Something our politics is still reeling from today.
But a democrat just took Newt Grinigich’s old seat.
We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but even if Beto didn’t win, even if some races were lost, many were gained and maybe, perhaps, we can start to fight back. And, if we keep voting, next time we’ll win even more.
Remember, it’s a marathon, not a sprint, and every step forward counts.
