So I thought I’d analyze the boys’ alcohol intake during John’s stag, and it turned out to be pretty hefty. First off, their beer/ale/hoppy intake was 443.7 ml which is about ¾ of a pint:
Then I looked at how many pubs they went to, which was 8 (!); so the number of beers was 8 (in two hours, jfc). The website I used for calculating blood alcohol concentration considers one drink in the UK to be half a pint, so every beer the boys had was equal to 1.5 drinks (so 12 drinks) plus the one shot John bought totals 13 drinks.
I calculated Sherlock’s blood alcohol based upon 13 drinks in two hours with a body weight of 170 pounds.
Which gives him a blood alcohol concentration of .2
Which is pretty intoxicated. John is even worse because he is smaller than Sherlock, I estimate his weight at 140:
So his BAC is .251
Then they had an unknown quantity back at Baker Street. No wonder they both fell asleep at different times. And Sherlock got sick. They truly were blasted.
