Castiel is fascinated with the vinyl turntable. He can’t have Dean’s, but a second one is discovered – brown whorled bakelite like coffee and Pet Milk – and installed in the library. He and Sam are still recovering, so Dean goes out on a supply run by himself and returns to hear Bob Dylan’s hollow echo in the foyer.
It was a sweet little scene (love the description of the turntable) until I got to the lyrics and then it stabbed me in the chest… Why does it hurt so good?
I’m on the wrong PC so I don’t have my reaction gifs handy, but believe you me, this is well deserving of a good ol’ ‘Feels’ gif.
PAAAAAAAAAIN.
I was working on Grace and decided to put some music on. TACTICAL ERROR. Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door started playing and then drunk-and-despondent!Castiel happened.
Before he fell asleep, he was telling Sam stupid things he misses about home and things that really piss him off now like how nightmares make no fucking sense – seriously, last night he and Balthazar murdered Uriel and his army of giant seahorses – and headaches and how when he sits in one position too long his legs go numb and how do humans STAND the pins and needles?
I was going to actually write out the ranting but I liked it better that Dean walked into the aftermath. Poor broken Winchesters. 🙁
