not to make my 1192318th acd canon is gay post, but no matter how many times i read this I still genuinely don’t know of any other way to interpret Watson saying “he wasn’t really talking to me, he could have been talking to – say – the bed frame” LIKE !! if Holmes spoke aloud to him, wouldn’t Watson, i dont know, reference furniture from the room it happened in which is . this is at the very least the implication that they were hanging out in Holmes’ bedroom together . specifically.  the bed . where. Watson. stimulated him. apparently.
