I didn’t totally get it at first myself, but once I sat down and listened to the whole thing, that’s when it got me.
That said, if you listen to it, and don’t care for it, that’s okay too, everyone is allowed an opinion, and you don’t have to love something just because it seems like everyone else does!

I would say don’t do it at the Q&A. He generally has a rule against that anyway because he doesn’t want to hug 850 people and a Q&A is supposed to be for everyone. If you can get a photo op, he’ll do damnear anything, otherwise your best bet is probably a handshake at the autograph table.
That said, John is an awesome person and he’ll certainly listen to you at the autograph table, just remember that there a lot of other people behind you that also want a minute of his time.

Not really. I have writers that have influenced me or that I felt like they might understand me, but no one just like me.

John walked down the snowy path, hands in his pocket, scowl on his face. School wasn’t going well this term. He’d have to put more time in studying. Suddenly Sherlock stepped in front of him, smirk on his face.
“Don’t you dare throw that snowba-, goddammit!” John was cut off by the impact of cold on his cheek. “Sher…” another one hit his chest.
Growling, John bent and gathered up a handful of snow while being pelted by another one. He threw it and soon he was giggling as they went back and forth, finally pushing Sherlock down in a snowbank, grinning at him. “You bastard.”
Sherlock smiled up at him. “I’ve got hot chocolate and can help you study for that Latin test next week.
“Add in a towel and you’ve got a deal.”
