Imagine Nick Fury dragging a 20 year old Clint Barton into SHIELD. Clint is covered in Blood and Bruises and refuses to Leave Nick’s side while he’s glaring at everyone that they pass.
It take’s Nick an hour to convince Director Carter that this kid deserves a chance, but she finally agreed to give Nick the chance to prove that this is worth it.
Nick finds the perfect trainers for Clint, gets him set up and watches him grow as a SHIELD agent, beaming with Pride when everyone who doubted Nick from bringing Clint in is forced to eat their words.
But his proudest moment is when Clint how’s up three days past check in, sweaty, bloody an tired, with the Black Widow in tow.
The first words out of his mouth are “She deserves a chance…”
And Nick can’t argue with that
