I’ve been watching this show that explores the cause of some of the biggest major technological and structural disasters, and the answer for about 95% of them has been “Some man didn’t do his job.”

Today in history you probably haven’t heard of…
The Wilhelm Gustolff was a ship trying to evacuate Germans ahead of the Russian advance in 1945. By some estimates she was carrying about 10,600 people, military and civilian, with somewhere around half of them children.
She was sunk by a German submarine with a loss of life just of over 9,400.
For comparison, the loss of life on the Titanic was about 1,500.
It remains to this day the single largest loss of life in any shipwreck.
All your supernatural stuff is pretty spooky, but nothing will ever terrify me as much as the devastating havoc that our own natural world can make, like earthquakes and tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.
I
completely
agree
these

Wait

more
Nope. No. Fuck all that. *hands in the air* I’m done! I’m out! Peace!
Some of these are totes from movies. But all are terrifying.
