headcanon ;; Race characteristics for LotR that aren’t just ‘( short/tall ) human with different ( beards / feet / ears )’ –
- Elves have a second, clear eyelid that gives them the appearance of “sleeping with their eyes open” when they close it in order to rest. They do not often blink.
- While Hobbits are known to have large feet, few them know that they also have disproportionately large and powerful thigh and calf muscles. They can jump higher, in terms of their weight and size, than any other race.
- Orcs and Uruk-hai feel very little pain, and as such, they tattoo and scar themselves in honor of their gods. Sauron is not one of them.
- Dwarves’ eyes have a very small sclera. Instead, the iris is almost all that can be seen. Their pupils can expand in the dark until their eyes are an empty black, enabling them to see in the dark better than any other race. In some kingdoms, blinding a Dwarf by leaving them in the dark for days before flooding them suddenly with light is used as a punishment.
- Hobbits have almost twice the number of taste buds as humans.
- The ears of Elves can move and tilt towards noises, although the range of their movements is limited.
- Dwarves may often be born with six toes. Those that do are called stone-bound, and are said to have a deeper connection to the earth.
- Many humans have reported a feeling of being watched when they are with Elves, even when alone with them. This is caused by the Elven fëa / fae / spirit, which is separate from – but linked to – the body, giving some sensitive non-Elves the feeling that there are two people present instead of one.
- With age, a Hobbit’s hair may become mossy green. This is due to faint pigments in their shampoo that collect, very slowly, over the years.
- Small sensory organs in Dwarves’ hands and feet help them detect vibrations and minute details in anything they touch. These organs are slightly raised and look similar to callouses.

Doctor Who headcanon: The Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors hang out far more than they should. They try to get Eight to join them often but he can’t stand Seven.
Eight and Seven fight just as much as Two and Three IMHO
Lestrade.
- What they smell like: Hard work and something manly, but not too strong. Possibly an expensive gift from Mycroft that he uses sparingly.
- How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc): He works a lot of late nights and sometimes odd hours, but when he can his favorite position is on his back with Mycroft tucked up under his chin and an arm around him securely. When he sleeps alone it’s still on his back but with his arm tossed over his head to get at his weapon quickly if he needs to.
- What music they enjoy: Classic rock, mostly.
- How much time they spend getting ready every morning: Not much, depending on how much sleep he got. Usually just a quick shower.
- Their favorite thing to collect: Just little things that he think might make Mycroft happy: a knick knack here and there, a bottle of wine. And recipes for when he has time to cook.
- Left or right-handed: Right
I also share that headcanon about jack and nine
That Jack was in love with Nine? Yeah, it’s my favorite one and I think it should have been something touched upon if stated by the show. Honestly the only thing that would have gotten me to watch Eleven again would have been Jack’s reaction to seeing him once again in that new body. Would have been interesting.
It is in my opinion that Nine, stole both Rose and Jack’s hearts. Then Ten came and his relationship with Rose fully bloomed as Jack was left as a comrade, a friend he loves but not in love with. Hm, maybe it’s better that Eleven and Jack didn’t meet, something tells me that Elven would have broken Jack in an irreparable way. Plus Moffat, I don’t trust Moffat with jack-shit much less actual Jack.
As it stands I want him and 12 to meet, because Capaldi and I sense Moffat is going to go away; i can feel it in me’h bones!
