Chapter 3 of It Doesn’t Usually Start with a Wedding is up.
Chapter Two of It Doesn’t Usually Start with a Wedding is up
I finally started the alpha/beta sequel I had in mind for Mycroft’s Choice:
It Doesn’t Usually Start with a Wedding – What starts at a wedding can only end up with commitment . Even if one is an alpha and the other a beta.
teaser below the cut
“You want me, to go with you, to a wedding?” John Watson looked incredulously at Mike Stamford. He’d only been back in London a few weeks, struggling to find a job, find a place for himself. It was like the sharp color and smells of the front line had all been drained away by hospitals and blood, leaving him washed up here on a bench in the park with a cane and a rapidly cooling cup of coffee.
“It’s the wedding of a brother of a friend, which is why I think they invited me. He’s known for being…somewhat difficult.” Mike regarded his coffee and sipped it. “He’s brilliant though. You don’t have to stay for the whole thing.”
John thought about his yawningly empty social calendar. “I suppose I can go. When is it?”
Mike grinned at him. “Tonight. I’ll pick you up at five.”

At half past four, John stood in front of the bathroom mirror, adjusting his tie, wondering when life had gone sideways. He’d been perfectly happy in the army, but now… He supposed that wasn’t anyone’s fault but the bastard that had shot him. He didn’t even know what had happened to the person on the other end of that gun. For a moment he heard his name echo in his head, gunfire, grass, dirt, pain. He shook his head and splashed cold water on his face, careful not to muss the tie.
He turned and limped into the main room of the tiny bedsit, taking a seat on the bed and eyeing the pills his therapist had prescribed as he rubbed his shoulder. No matter what biology might suggest, he and Mike had only ever been a couple of friends. Besides, what omega would possibly want a damaged wreck like him for their alpha?
I have a fic that’s over 10,000 hits!!
Value of an Omega is currently sitting at 10023 hits. You guys are freakin awesome.
Sunday Six
Working on the third chapter of Mycroft’s Choice:
A man stepped into his path: “I see you decided to come back.” Mister Williams was an alpha through and through and had never gotten along with Mycroft. If anyone was making jokes about omegas behind his back, it was Williams.
“Of course,” he made a move to go around him.
Williams leaned into his space and sniffed. “Bonded, finally. Suppose that means you’ll be quitting to have babies soon?”
I think this is the longest not-multi chapter thing I’ve written, and it’s a pretty sweet story about a relationship.
Mycroft’s Choice – Omega Mycroft never wanted an alpha, until he met Greg Lestrade.
teaser below the cut:
The fact that Mycroft Holmes was an omega had become incidental to his life. He kept things carefully structured, had a three day heat every four months he carefully scheduled around, and any alpha who thought he could be cowed or intimidated quickly found out just how wrong they were. He was content with his lot in life and, other than the thorn in his side that was his younger brother, saw no reason his life wouldn’t continue along the same path. Until the day Sherlock dragged alpha Gregory Lestrade into his life.
“I thank you for calling me,” he told the Inspector as they headed down to the holding cells. In his mind, he was already gathering facts as he looked at the man: handsome, unbonded, alpha, promising career, patient.
“Not the first time I’ve dealt with Sherlock,” said Lestrade. “I’m sure the assault charges will vanish by next week.” He gave Mycroft a critical eye.
“As long as he stays clean,” said Mycroft. “I understand he’s been helping on some of your cases.”
Lestrade stopped and pulled him into an alcove. Internally he braced himself for the slightly shorter alpha to get in his face and try to intimidate him. Tiresome really. He was so busy with his thoughts he missed that Lestrade was actually speaking. “…so I’d appreciate you keeping that aspect quiet.”
“I must apologize Inspector,” Mycroft couldn’t keep all the surprise out of his voice. “I missed part of that.”
Lestrade chuckled and stepped back. “I only said that I’d appreciate you keeping your brother’s involvement quiet.”
Mycroft shifted his umbrella. “Of course. I can’t imagine your superiors would be happy to know of his participation, even if he does do your job for you.”
Lestrade raised an eyebrow. “Solving the case isn’t the same as prosecuting the crime. Come on.” He moved past Mycroft and back down towards the cells. Watching him, Mycroft knew he had to do more research on the Inspector.
Chapter 5 of the The Stronger Bond is up.
Two more chapters, I think.
Chapter 3 of The Stronger Bond is up!
Trigger Warning: there is abuse in this chapter and dub con bordering on non-con. Sorry.
Allright, the first chapter of this omegaverse is up:
John’s an Omega and Sherlock his Alpha, but after he witnesses Sherlock’s suicide John tries to carry on, eventually meeting and bonding with Alpha Mary.
Now Sherlock is back, finding his Omega bonded to someone else and worse, pregnant by her.

The day Sherlock jumped from Bart’s, John thought his world was over. He’d known other Omegas that hasn’t survived the loss of their Alpha. But John had never been a typical Omega. Even at the funeral, he thought he caught a bit of his Alpha’s scent, but of course when he looked there was no one there. At least his heats had never been that frequent. But the first one he had after Sherlock’s death he spent in misery and heartbreak, using toys in the bed where they had made so much love and his scent still lingered. As soon as the heat was over he moved out.
For the next year he threw himself into work. He could swear sometimes he could still feel Sherlock, like the moon pulling tides. But he’d seen Sherlock die. John chalked it up to the strength of their bond and tried to move on with his life.
In late January he had a particularly vivid dream. It was bitterly cold like only Russia could be. Sherlock walked in the darkness, bundled against the cold, following someone. John cried out as he saw someone about to jump him. Sherlock turned at his cry and knocked the knife from his assailant’s hand. John watched helplessly as three more men moved in on him. Sherlock tried, but they beat him unconscious, one of them picking up the detective, saying something to the others in Russian and tossing him over one shoulder. John woke, bolting to a seat. He put his hand on the bond mark, finding it warm. He shook his head, heart racing. Sherlock was dead. He’d seen him jump. He scrabbled his hands through his hair and went to take a shower, wondering how long his former mate would haunt him.
Looks like I’m working on another omegaverse story. John’s an Omega and Sherlock his Alpha, but after he witnesses Sherlock’s suicide he tries to carry on, eventually meeting and bonding with Alpha Mary.
Now Sherlock is back, finding his Omega bonded to someone else and worse, pregnant by her.
Just need to figure out the puzzle of what happens.
