: time of the doctor was a fucking shitstorm of an episode, matt deserved better than that and i cant’ fucking stand clara because they forgot to give her a personality. Also not incluing barrowman in 50th was a goddamn shame and a waste of an actor who loves the show

 season 2 in love with rose, happy, exploring his new life, trying to put the time war behind him
season 3 – lost, ignorant of martha, mopey, finding the master and jack again and then losing everyone just when he thought maybe he could find a family again. Both Martha and Jack rejected him in the end for their own sanity and that was GOOD. For both of them
 Season 4 Donna, seeing the universe through her eyes, trying to not do to donna what he did to martha, trying so hard to be a better man…only to lose Donna too

 then the specials and the Time Lord Triumphant and going seriously master level crazy before in the end sacraficing his life to save one man who believed in him

eleven doesn’t have an arc. okay we have cracks, and silence, the lake..but those are exernal factors, not internal ones

sure with ten we had torchwood and saxon and things going missing, but it fit into ten’s growth as a character, not arcs for the sake of arcs, you know?

 nine saw his world burn. And was responsible. The last one left. He was bitter and angry and yet found a erason to keep going in rose.
 ten kept that guilt, but tried to move past it, then the shit with the master. he died knowing he was it
 eleven of course is mess, but he still caries that same guilt. HE knew he was the one to push the button, so to speak

WHAT THE HELL?!??!?!  

SEASON 3 EPISODE 3 SPOILERS AHEAD!!! MAJOR SPOILERS AND RANT!!!  BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

Sherlock’s trying to make excuses for Mary shooting him, saying that she didn’t go for a kill shot and called the ambulance, but HIS HEART FUCKING STOPPED and it was the thought of JOHN BEING IN DANGER that brought him back.

So YES Mary DID kill him.  FUCK SHERLOCK STOP TRYING TO MAKE EXCUSES FOR HER JUST BECAUSE SHE’S JOHN’S WIFE.

Goddammit Sherlock, you’re breaking my heart here.  

And I’m kind of pissed at John too.  I mean I was willing to give Mary a chance at the beginning, and she was charming, fun, witty, interesting, so while it hurt to see Sherlock having to step aside for her I could accept that.  But now she turns out to be some assassin killer, who apparently has killed many people for god knows what reason, so no, I’m NOT OK with John just being all oh-I-don’t-care-about-your-past.  

SHE ALMOST KILLED SHERLOCK!! THE MAN WHO SAVED YOUR LIFE!! THE MAN WHO DOVE INTO A FIRE FOR YOU!!  And he fucking cares about you and your happiness SO FUCKING MUCH he’s willing to forgive his attempted-murderer because you apparently LOVE HER so fucking much and he doesn’t want to hurt you.  So fuck you John, and your blindness.

On top of that, to protect your happy little domestic life, Sherlock KILLS for you. And he gets sent on a SUICIDE MISSION as punishment.  Sherlock was willing to DIE FOR YOU, John, and you would just go home to your happy little murderer wife with your little baby and live your happy little lives while SHERLOCK HAS TO PAY THE PRICE FOR IT.   So yeah, forget love, even as a “friend” you’re doing a marvelously shitty job of it John, much less a supposed “best friend”.

No.  I am NOT fucking OK with this.  Fuck this.  Right now I’m pissed at just about everyone in this show EXCEPT Sherlock…and Molly.  Molly’s still cool.  Fucking hell.  Fuck it all.  Season 4 better have some answers, because I am so close to being done.

So, I picked up the Entertainment Weekly Fall Movie Preview that’s out this week, because I love movies. (Still weird to see a mainstream publication talking about Doctor Who, but I digress).

Among the films coming out later this year, I’m looking forward to Ender’s Game. It’s probably my single favorite book (even if Orson Scott Card is a douchebag) and one that I’ve been hoping to see even though it’s been caught in development hell forever.

But then there was this quote, from the director:

“In the book the battle room is a big black box, but I decided it would be more visually exciting to make it a huge glass orb so you could be looking down at earth and up at stars”

OMG NO

If you’ve read the book at all, you’ll know the Battle Room is a huge part of the story, and part of what makes it important is that it is supposed to be disorienting.  That’s why “The enemy gate is down" is such a key moment. If you make the battle room clear, then you immediately give the players a frame of reference and that utterly defeats the purpose!

This is probably just a bit of nerd rage, but seriously  this is nearly enough to make me not want to see it after all. I know there will be changes in any adaption, but this just might be too much.
