Okay, but give me a Hermione Granger who cannot cook for the life of her. She’s done research, she’s taken classes, she’s tried everything and goddamit why can’t she make this work?!

Give me a Ron Weasley who watched his mother cook for years and somehow inherited her uncanny ability to just throw things in a pot and make it taste amazing. Give me a Ron Weasley who tries to teach his wife to cook because she asks him to and rubs her shoulders and fixes the light fixtures when she fails again. Give me a Ron Weasley who wears a “Kiss the cook” apron and makes all the meals for the family. Give me a Ron Weasley who fondly tells Hermione “for Merlin’s sake, you’re the bloody minister of magic, babe, you don’t have to be good at everything.” Give me a Ron Weasley who adores his wife and loves working part-time at the shop with Fred and George (there was a rumour going around that Fred died- this is poppycock. Please ignore it) and decides he loves being a househusband and defying gender roles but in a quieter way than his hurricane of a wife, who’s amazing and in-your-face and gods, he loves her. Give me a Ron who decides that he’s not so fond of the fame and glory that he gained in the war as he thought he would be, and who finally understands why Harry hated it so much in school. Give me a Ronald Weasley who learns to do laundry and mend clothes and keep house and makes lunch for his kids before they go off to muggle primary school and his wife before she goes to work and decides that being his family’s number one favourite person is more than enough. Give me a Ron who has a secret fondness for daytime soap operas when everyone’s out of the house and he’s not at the shop. Give me a Ron who is happy and healthy and realises that he’s so much more than just the sixth child or the leftover, that he’s loved, that he’s enough.

I think the most beautiful part of this is that Ron spent so much of his life being embarrassed by his mum, and finally realizing she’s been the true role model all along.

Yes pls

  • ron weasley letting hermione know that she could still keep granger as her last name or even have himself become mr.granger after she says yes to his proposal
  • deciding that he was happier spreading laughter and fun by working alongside his brother at the shop than he ever was an auror
  • making jokes about his weight gain in order to make his family laugh
  • trying to become more familiar with the muggle world for hermione’s sake
  • crying the day hugo gives him a drawing of dad with my hero written in big letters at the top
  • rose always calls for dad whenever she sees a spider because he’ll always come and kill it for her despite his arms shaking when he reaches for it
  • ron almost always forgets his anniversary but it doesn’t really bother hermione since he’s always setting up dates for them whenever she can find the time to take off work
  • ron listening to harry talk about his nightmares during the middle of the night over a cup of hot chocolate
  • putting the birthday card on fred’s grave because george can never bring himself to go to the cemetary during their birthday
  • molly teaching ron how to make cakes so he can make them for the kids and hermione on their birthday
  • making sure that his kids know how proud of them he is because he never wants them experiencing the same self esteem issues he has
  • ron weasley being the best husband, friend, family member, and father that he can be because if there’s anything he’s exceptional at it’s loving people

do you think after Ron and Hermione got out of the trapdoor and raised the alarm and were being patched up in the hospital wing

do you think they were given the most royal proud mama smackdown by McGonagall like “ how DARE you infiltrate a death maze you are ELEVEN and miss granger how on earth did you solve my chessboard i”

and hermione interjected like “oh professor it wasn’t me. i’m useless at chess. it was ron.”

and McGonagall turned to look at Ron Weasley in total amazement at this 11 yr old kid who had been pretty ordinary in all her classes but had apparently beaten her in death chess and he just shrugged like “rookie mistakes, professor. you made some rookie mistakes.”

#AND THIS WAS THE DAY MCGONAGALL LEARNED NOT TO UNDERESTIMATE RON WEASLEY#AND HE NEVER GOT A BREAK FROM HER EVER AGAIN#‘you beat me in death chess i’m sure you can handle transfiguring an own into a spoon mr weasley’#ron weasley#‘damnit i should have just let myself be killed in there she’s making me LEARN THINGS’ (via alchemistc)

Ron Weasley offered the stranger sitting next to him on the train half his sandwich even though it was all he had.

Ron Weasley sacrificed himself for the good of Harry and Hermione at age eleven because even then he thought they were more important than he was, and the ones worth saving.

Ron Weasley was Harry Potter’s first friend and the first thing Harry ever had resembling a family.

Ron Weasley lived in a cramped house and wore hand me down robes and he didn’t even think twice about offering his room and food and family to Harry every break.

Ron Weasley took care of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger when they were too busy taking care of the rest of the world to worry about themselves.

Ron Weasley stood on broken bones when he was thirteen years old, to tell a man infamous for murder that if he planned on killing his best mate, he would have to go through him first.

Ron Weasley was the person Harry would miss most in the world.

Ron Weasley was a pureblood wizard who, from a very young age, devoted his life to abolishing blood status, even if he didn’t quite understand his own privilege.

Ron Weasley gave Dobby his own clothes and socks to be buried in, because he understood how important it would have been to him.

Ron Weasley thought about saving the house elves when everyone else forgot.

If you don’t love Ron Weasley, The Boy Who Cared, I don’t know what books you read but they weren’t the same ones I did.
