mcu canon sam wilson is so vastly different from fanon because sam wilson in the mcu 

  • tries to outrun captain america because steve’s being an ass
  • keeps tabs on the location of his exo flight suit at all times just incase someone was down for a weekend heist into a military stronghold
  • has enough eggs for unplanned breakfast guests
  • carries a k-bar knife when his in plain clothes
  • will happily call up hydra agents to threaten them with bodily harm while sipping an ice tea
  • no problem jumping out of a falling building
  • leave the country at a drop of a hat to find bucky with steve
  • apparently called shotgun to sit in the front seat of that volkswagon 
  • will take no shit from anyone

sam wilson, everybody. he’s the best. he doesn’t just make cupcakes for the va. i mean, i’m sure he does but he does a heck of a lot more

  • teased tchalla for dressing like a cat (while dressed like a bird)
  • refused to move his seat for bucky
  • told rumlow to stfu
  • “if you eat that sort of thing”
  • “did you write that down or was it off the top of your head”
  • “youre a lot heavier than you look”
  • “aw come on give it a kiss”

sam wilson is as much a smart-assed little punk as skinny!steve, is all im saying

so i’ve seen a lot of posts talking about sam watching rhodey fall like it was riley all over again

disclaimer: i completely agree.

now: let’s talk about how Sam is helping Steve get back his best friend, his Bucky. How Bucky survived the fall and is still out there, living, alive.

let’s talk about Sam plunging as fast as he can to save Rhodey, seeing Rhodey survive. Rhodey surviving the fall, is still living, alive.

let’s talk about Riley, falling to the ground, not getting up, not breathing. let’s talk about Sam watching him fall, helpless to stop it.

let’s talk about how everyone else’s best friend survives, but not riley, and how sam sees everyone else survive – but not riley.

let’s talk about that.
