I think it’s cool how in the opening of Hamilton, the things he’s given (and has taken) are kind of symbolic of his relationship with the character.
Aaron Burr takes his jacket. Like taking his life.
Eliza gives him a new jacket – giving him comfort and warmth.
Angelica gives him books like how she gives him someone with enough intelligence to match his wit.
Finally, John Laurens gives him his package.
