Let me tell you about my new favorite Youtube channel

spontaneousmusicalnumber:

It’s called One Yard Revolution (OYR), and it’s all about how to get the most out of a small garden. It’s run by one guy and a frequent co-host (I’ll get to him later).

Their goal that they repeat often: To grow as much food as possible, in as little space as possible, without doing more work or spending more money than they have to. They have some one-ups on a new garden, they’ve been working the same soil for over a decade and it shows, plus more recently they’ve been adding things like hoop houses and small greenhouses to the area, but they still have a ton of great tips and information.

I really like that he goes about things very scientifically- no hacky tricks or clickbait, and he often runs tests with control/experimental groups to push the limits of what he can plant (Eg, plant tomatoes from seed outside next to ones that got a head start in the greenhouse, how much of a difference is there?) He lives in a pretty cool climate (Still a zone warmer than me), near Chicago I think.

Oh, by the way, this is his co-host:

I’ve been excited to start gardening this spring and have been eating up his videos while playing Stardew Valley to try and sate some of the impatience. They’re super calming and beautiful if you just want to relax.
